Dr. Ayize S. J. Sabater, I Co-Founder & Manager
A dynamic entrepreneur, community organizer and educator with over twenty years of community building experience, Ayize Sabater brings that passion to NM Consulting as one of our staff members. He is the co-founder of several community-based institutions, including an independent Black school, a chain of live food vegetarian restaurants, community-based non-profit organizations and a Montessori Public Charter school in Washington, DC.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Morehouse College and has a Master's Degree in Urban Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary. He recently completed his doctoral studies on Family Engagement in the field of Urban Educational Leadership at Morgan State University. He has been at the forefront of community activism in Washington, DC and has lectured widely on community development, cultural empowerment, educational transformation, wholistic health and other topics.
Rhonda Lucas-Sabater, M.Ed.,Co-Founder & Partner
As a co-founder and partner at NM Consulting, Rhonda brings her passion for children and commitment to authentic Montessori practice to the table. She is the founder of a licensed home child care center in Maryland as well as co-founder of a Montessori Public Charter school in Washington, DC. She graduated from the University of the District of Columbia and later completed graduate studies at Loyola University in Maryland, specializing in Montessori education.
She holds three Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) diplomas: Assistants to Infancy (0-3), Primary (3-6) and Elementary (6-12), and the Orientation to Adolescence Certificate (12-18). She has worked as a Primary and Elementary Montessori guide in both private and public schools as well as an after-school program director. She currently works as a Montessori Primary Guide. Together with Ayize, she co-parents five wonderful children.
